whitters23: "Deep question # 12. :O"

I think I probably would, mostly because I’m a single girl with no dependants and my parents to fall back on… although I might talk to the person in question first, because having been in that situation (been made redundant) I can imagine I would have felt really terrible if someone had just randomly offered to lose their job in my place.

I have some of these peeves too. Like if it says ‘The fic is much better than the summary’ I don’t even bother. If you can write a decent fic than why can’t you give it a decent summary??

Yes. This too!!!

whitters23 replied to your post: After taking a couple of quizzes I’ve been told I’m both House Tully and House Stark.

yay! House buddies! I’m 90% Tully and 70% Stark and least like the Freys or the Greyjoys. *fist bump*

Whooooo House Buddy <3. I’m pleased with it, the Starks are my favourite family overall in the books, but I think I myself am more like a Tully :P so I’m happy to marry in xD.

whitters23 replied to your post: Ugh. Bruce Springsteen is far too awesome to be real.

Did he do ‘Fire’? That was always my favourite! He’s fantastic.

Unfortunately not, Fire is really good. He did a lot of songs from his new album Wrecking Ball, which were all awesome, and then it was just as many of the classics he could fit in. When he did Born To Run and Dancing in the Dark everyone went mental.

This is the official setlist for the longest show he did in Madrid (3 hours 48 minutes):

1. Badlands
2. No Surrender
3. We Take Care Of Our Own
4. Wrecking Ball
5. Death To My Hometown
6. My City Of Ruins
7. Spirit in the Night
8. Be True
9. Jack of All Trades
10. Youngstown
11. Murder Incorporated
12. She’s The One
13. Talk To Me (With Southside Johnny)
14. Spanish Eyes*
15. Working On The Highway
16. Shackled And Drawn
17. Waiting on a Sunny Day
19. The River
20. Because the Night (
21. My Love Will Not Let You Down
22. The Rising
23. We Are Alive
24. Thunder Road

Encore:

25. Rocky Ground
26. Born In The USA
27. Born To Run
28. Hungry Heart
29. Seven Nights To Rock
30. Dancing In The Dark
31. 10th Avenue Freeze-Out
32. Twist And Shout

Obviously he didn’t do all of these (Born in the USA/Spanish Eyes/Working on the Highway weren’t there) but most of them in a slightly different order. Honestly he was incredible though and they were on at least 3 hours 20… ugh just amazing.

whitters23 replied to your post: Ugh. So irritated with someone at work.

My mother in law is also frightened of them. It’s the possibility of a loud BANG out of no where that she hates. There was actually an episode on Corner Gas about it. It’s called Globaphobia!

That’s exactly it, hey now I know the name I can prove it’s a real thing! I swear people think I’m making it up sometimes o_O’.

Have you just started reading the books now? What do you think? Are you in love with them yet? I want to know all of you thoughts!! XD

Eeeep. Yes, I just started a few days ago, but I keep forgetting to take the book with me to work in the morning and I’m so tired when I get back, so I’m not that far in at the moment. About up to where Mormont is asking Tyrion to plead the case of the Night’s watch to the King and his father.

I do love the series already though, and I’m impressed so far at least with how well the television show has done translating the books to the screen… I mean there will always be discrepancies and I think there’s quite a bit more sex in the show than is actually described in the book, but overall it so far seems to be staying pretty much in line, and pretty true to the main storylines.

I adore the writing style, it’s so full of description and feeling, but it’s also so easy to read and follow. So for my work tired and slightly slow mind it’s awesome and it’s helping me get back into the habit of reading often - something I sadly lost as of late, with work troubles and money troubles and the minor obsession I have with Castleville and Tumblr xP.

I wish I could give you more indepth coherent thoughts but as I say, work tired and slow right now xD… maybewhen I’m a little further into the books… or if I have a holiday o-O’ (not likely -_-‘).

Oh good! Well Happy Birthday to my dearest online friend! What a great weekend to be having a birthday. Here in Canada we will be setting off fireworks just for you! (And Queen Victoria)

Thanks Whitney =). Hey, awesome, fireworks =D. Personally I always identified with Queen Elizabeth I, but I can totally get on board with being honoured alongside Queen Victoria =P. <333

whitters23 replied to your post: Glee is 2 hours? Oh wow. I really am not going to bed at 3am for this fucked up show when I have to be up at 7.30.

Lol, I didn’t even realize it was on tonight. I guess that means I’ve truly moved on! It was hard… but I think it’s harder to keep watching the show!

I am not making myself tired all day tomorrow for it… which is basically me moving on xD. I suppose I will end up watching the last few episodes at some point, just for the closure of seeing them graduate, then I’m officially done.

whitters23 replied to your post: Seriously. Why are you all putting yourself through this?

It’s TOO hard. I’ve created my own version. Find out where you are! So far I’ve been in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Molina, Spain. I feel bad for people that got dropped off in Canada. You can go forever without finding a town let alone an airport.

The only time I tried it I got dropped somewhere in Singapore… I gave up after like ten minutes… I just got bored xD.

whitters23 replied to your post: Holy Shit! I have a job >-< !!

EEE!!! I’m soooo happy for you. That’s some exciting stuff! Is this the museum job?? You might not hear this enough but that would be the coolest job. I never got how they always made fun of Ross’s job is Friends. Museums are amazing!

>_<!!! IT IS IT IS. I couldn’t believe it, I was so sure I’d messed up and hadn’t got it because they called really late in the day and I was so depressed… and then I was so excited I forgot to ask what time I have to go in on Friday to meet with everyone… so now I have to email them to ask xD.

It’s not like a proper museum it’s more like… interactive learning? I don’t know but it’ll be so much fun and they own loads of really cool places around the country so if I stick with it, in a few years I could move up and be an assistant manager or something =D.

Exciting! Good luck!

Thank you =D. I have to come up with a three minute talk about an early memory of having sweets, which is hard because I have practically no memory of when I was a child xD… it’s going to be an interesting few days.

whitters23:

In the books she was amazing. She was bold, and powerful. A great female character and unfortunately they didn’t choose to include those moments where she really shined the films. Although I really did like that scene in the Ministry of Magic where she showed off her mad spellmanship (that’s a word right?)

I guess I didn’t really pay much attention to them in the earlier books, and I’m not sure which moment exactly made me start paying attention but I remember it being just before OotP came out. When I was reading that book every single time they had a moment I would stop reading and squeal and shout “I knew it! I knew I wasn’t crazy!” (Which is pretty crazy actually.)

In the first three books she was this little Harry Potterfan girl, shy and nervous, gazing at him from afar. In Goblet of Fire we start to see that dissipate a bit and she starts to integrate herself into the group some more. Then all of a sudden in the 5th book the veil was lifted and she is ‘GINNY’. She’s fierce and funny and impetuous and there is mention of her actually being a pretty powerful little witch. Sure her and Harry finally become friends here, but I feel like it was more than that. It was the first time that he really got to SEE her and get to know Ginny, and not just Ron’s strange little sister. And even as early as this there were a few subtle hints that he was beginning to take notice in her. Personally I always liked them because I felt like she was a good match for him. Other than her I could never picture Harry with any of the other characters. (In fanfic I can ship Ginny/Draco… but even with fanfic it’s either Ginny/Harry or Harry all alone, lol)

I always liked Harry/Luna in the films. They played really well off of each other… but in the books it was always Neville/Luna for me. I was so disappointed when they didn’t end up together at the end, but I could understand why she didn’t do that. With Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione it would have been TOO perfect to pair up Neville and Luna on top of that. Needless to say I was THRILLED when I saw the last movie. That was definitely a nice surprise.

The couple of scenes in the film of OoTP are pretty much the only times in all the films where Ginny actually has any self-worth as a character and it’s infuriating to me. I mean they messed up the sixth film just in general, but the way they handled Harry/Ginny was just horrid… having her bend down to tie up his shoes for him? Really? Just… no.

As I say, it’s better in the books purely because Ginny is actually her own person and not just Harry’s love interest.

Mmm, ships are something I’ve always paid attention too I guess (which is also kind of crazy xP) so I was thinking about it from basically book one, and at the end of book two I was just like… oh, Harry and Ginny… that’s not predictable. Then it seemed to fade away a bit and when they came back Ginny was her own person and she was over him and they were friends and it was awesome… and then the sixth book happened and I felt like it just undid half the things I’d thought was positive about their development… and I’d already fallen hard for Harry/Luna in OoTP and I even still held a minor torch for Harry/Cho, so it was incredibly disappointing. Plus as I said, I liked the way they worked paternally, I thought that they worked really well as close friends/brother/sister but I didn’t really… believe them? In a relationship… if that makes sense. I almost just skimmed over those bits because I just simply could wrap my head around them being in love with each other o-o’… and knowing me and my rants about Fuinn vs Finchel you know important that is for me :P.

I also - and maybe this is just the psychologist in me - get a distinctly Oedipus complex vibe from the whole thing, because she resembles his mother in a lot of ways… or at least she resembles the image that I think Harry had of his mother.

Ah no! Neville and Luna is another thing we disagree on xD… I remember being sat in the theatre at the movie just like… “Wait huh?” because Neville/Luna never even occurred to me as a thing XD. I don’t dislike it per say, it was just really weird xD. I was like the biggest Neville/Ginny shipper in the world I think… “Whoo deputy D.A leaders forever!” and of course, I love the idea of him marrying Hannah Abbot. I have super sweet headcanons of her working at the Hogs Head and Neville going down there after school to relax, and telling her stories about the kids and what they’re up to, and reminiscing about the old DA days and just =D. So… yeah I just like to imagine that Neville and Luna tried going out, but it didn’t really happen, and then Neville went into teaching, Luna went travelling and it all turned out right for them both in the end (exceptthatLunadidn’tmarryHarrybut…ughfine).
