☼ Hufflepuff Common Room
“It was round, earthy and low-ceilinged; it always felt sunny, and its circular windows had a view of rippling grass and dandelions. There was a lot of burnished copper about the place, and many plants, which either hang from the ceiling or sat on the windowsills. The overstuffed sofas and chairs were upholstered in yellow and black, and the dormitories were reached through round doors in the walls of the common room. Copper lamps cast a warm light over the four-poster beds, which were covered in patchwork quilts, and small copper bed warmers hung on the walls, in case of cold feet.”
I swear I have blocked more people in the Hufflepuff tag in the last two days because of that stupid 4 houses picture than I have RP’s in the Fuinn tag in a month… and that is really saying something.
Then there’s Hufflepuffs in third just like >_<!!! WE DIDN’T COME LAST OMG THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!

The Magic Begins: 5/30 - Favourite House/Your House
Slytherin…. nah only kidding, HUFFLEPUFF!!!
What else was it going to be really? Seriously, anyone who knows me at all knows that I am the biggest Hufflepuff alive, and I love being a part of this amazing house.
I know that Hufflepuff is often thought to be the losers house, or the weak house, or the house that simply takes the ones who ‘weren’t good enough for the other houses’ but these assumptions are A) Wrong and B) Ridiculous in their wrongness. If anyone actually took some time to really read the books it would be clear to them that not only do Hufflepuffs defy every single stereotype made about them, they also churn out some pretty awesome characters.
Think about it. Hufflepuff’s are stupid? Um, tell that to Ernie Macmillan who achieved an O Grade in Potions and probably most other subjects too. Hufflepuff’s are weak/cowardly/pushovers? Tell that to Cedric Diggory, who was picked as the best candidate of a group of students across all houses to be the Hogwarts Triwizard Champion and who braved every danger and solved every challenge thrown at him. Hufflepuff’s are boring? Sorry, have you met Nymphadora (don’t call her that) Tonks? With all her quirks, her humour, her bubblegum pink hair and the fact that she’s a metamorphmagus? Hufflepuffs are just ‘the rest’? Yeah because when you’re just “that one who wasn’t good enough for the other houses” you rise to become head of Magical Law Enforcement like Amelia Bones. And these are just some examples of how Hufflepuffs in the books in no way live up to the stereotypes made about them, and are actually pretty freakin’ awesome.
Being a Hufflepuff is a part of who I am now. Harry Potter meant a lot to me during my childhood - as it did to so many of us - and so your house really is something special to you. For me, being a Hufflepuff is being part of a huge family, most of which I have never even met, but who I am still connected too because we value the same things, justice, loyalty, fairness, patience, acceptance and hardwork. We will stand up for each other, because we’re a family and we won’t stand for out family being attacked. We will help each other, because nobody should be left behind. We’re fierce and loyal friends, who will never stab each other in the back and will always be truthful with each other.
Hufflepuff house, to me, is the embodiment of what Harry Potter as a book has tried to teach us. That loyalty, friendship, hardwork and love will pay off. That we should be accepting of all kinds of creatures and people, the way Helga Hufflepuff was accepting of all kinds of students and not discriminate. I know that Gryffindor always received the most glory in the books officially, but for me Hufflepuff, working quietly away in the background, was always the house I attach those prominent lessons too.
Overall, if I were in Hogwarts, I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be than chilling in our little Hobbit hole-esque common room, on comfortable chairs with a blazing fire, or sunbeams shining through the window, with a plate of food we got from the kitchens nearby, or sat round a desk as we all study together and help each other with the things we don’t understand.

And to give you an idea of scale… when it’s done it will almost completely fill this space:

It’s gonna be pretty big when it’s done xD… and it’s gonna take for-fucking-ever, but it’ll be worth it =).
