Into my crazy mind we go… 

Hey Guys, welcome to my page and stuff… I’m genuinely shockingly bad at writing about myself - as you can probably tell because i’ve written all this and i’ve yet to mention one thing about myself, except that I don’t know how to write about myself. Now i’m rambling; something I am actually, very good at.

SO there you are you know two things about me and neither of them are at all useful or what you’re here for.

Okay. So first things first, a lot of people know me by my alias: Rini. That’s not technically my name, but please continue to use it, I love it :D. My actual name for those of you who are interested is Stephanie, which I also like. Riniel is actually my name translated into Elvish (from Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings) which tells you something else about me. I’m a massive nerd.

Hmm about me, about me. Well basics, i’m a 20 year old Archaeology student in my final year; I should be studying, but i’m doing this instead. I’m an out and proud ginger - and YES we do, in fact, have souls (I know shock right ;P) - five foot something or other and I have blue eyes. I think I come across as very shy and innocent, but having gotten to know me I think most of the lads on my course are just a little afraid now they’ve seen what I can be like >=). When I’m with people i’m comfortable with, I’m extremely excitable and energetic - and I have a mildly sadistic streak, that doesn’t really translate to my attitude towards real people, but which definitely comes up when watching films and stuff. I have a bit of an obsession with Vampires - and I mean REAL Vampires, not the fluffy safe “vegetarian” variety - and all things mythical and mystical. I also love having scary contact lenses, my favourites were my vivid blood red ones <3… as I say, all this, I think this must throw people off, when I come across at first as kind of quiet and a little plain personality wise :P.

I’m a Christian, but do not for a moment assume that when I say Christian that i’m like… the Texas Evangelical Right… I’m extremely liberal minded… a very strong supporter of gay rights and of freedom of choice for women over abortions, for example. 

I am also “Straight edge”. Which is, for those who have never heard of it, a lifestyle by which a person abstains from alocohol, smoking, non-medicinal drugs, and sex outside of serious commited relationships. It’s something I am very proud to call myself, but I would never pass judgement on anyone for not following the same line. Most of my friends are not at all straight edge xP, and that’s fine, it’s just a personal code for myself and my own happiness… I don’t believe I need any of those things to enjoy myself. Hell i’m usually one of the more crazy and hyper of my friends on a night out.

When you can table-dance sober you don’t really want to add alcohol to the mix ;P.

As a Christian, straight edge, and a somewhat initially quiet person, I think people think i’m very naive… but uh, yeah… not so much with that… 

I mentioned that i’m a nerd above right? Well i’m not just a LOTR nerd, I am generally a nerd. Like about a lot of things.

I LOVE History, which is why i’m taking a degree in Archaeology right now, anything about past civilisations and battles and how we came to be what we are today fascinates me. I also love books, and when I say that I don’t just mean I love to read, I LOVE books… I like having a book properly in my hands as opposed to on a screen/Ipad or whatever. Despite that i’m also a bit of a technology nerd, I love gadgets and computers and phones and stuff… just, not to read books on XD… which leads us onto Sci Fi :P (I did tell you i’m a massive nerd). 

Above all else however, I’m a Harry Potter nerd. Have been from the moment I started reading the first book. You can ask me genuinely anything about that series… I know all the useless bits of info that don’t even contribute to it, I just love it. I will be reading those stories to my Grandchildren one day, because I genuinely believe every kid should have the opportunity to delve into Harry’s world. I’m a massive book!snob, although I do think the last film did a very good job - for once - of sticking close to the original story.

Moving on from the things i’ve been a nerd about since childhood, later in life I became a Manga/Anime nerd - which hasn’t really been reflected in my blog… strangely. Still I truly, truly am one. I have met some of the most amazing people through fandoms for manime, and been exposed to some pretty damn wacky stuff… to put it politely. Let’s just say that when you’ve been a few years in the manime circle, you’re naive way of life has been torn to shreds and there’s not much left that can surprise you XP. Like I said earlier, people’s assumption of my naivety is a little off…

A lot of you will probably have realised by now - hopefully xP - that I also LOVE Glee. I got hooked on it because a friend recommended it and i’ve since surpassed her in my obsession with the show. I love all the characters - though at first I had real trouble liking Rachel - and i’m sure if you knew I loved Glee, you also new I loved Fuinn (Finn/Quinn). They are my OTP for the show and… yeah just don’t ever insult them around me, it’s a sure fire way to piss me off.
